Samsung S2 Galaxy Beat iPhone 4S sales in the United Kingdom

Even with the popularity of the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 4S recent reports have revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S2 has surpassed the Apple device as the best-selling smartphone in the UK last month. This was reportedly due to problems in the supply of the iPhone 4S, which allowed the Samsung Galaxy S2 to surpass the device on the list.

While the top spot went to the Samsung Galaxy S2, another Samsung device copped the third place on the list as the Samsung Galaxy Ace trailed the iPhone 4S. These were not the only Samsung devices that reached the top ten list as the Samsung Galaxy Note placed seventh on the list while the Samsung Galaxy Nexus came in at eighth place. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone to come with the latest mobile operating system from Google, the Ice Cream Sandwich Android.

According to the reports, the problems in the supply of the iPhone 4S resulted to its second place finish behind the Samsung Galaxy S2. Observers hinted that supply shortages may have been encountered by retailers in the United Kingdom as they were unable to meet the demand for the iPhone 4S.

However apart from the supply problems of the iPhone 4S which allowed the Samsung Galaxy S2 to beat it on the list, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is also offering stiff competition against the latest iPhone offering of Apple.

The latest smartphone offering of Samsung has gone up in the list to eighth place despite the fact that it was only offered in the United Kingdom last November 17 or thirteen days before the month ended, which is way shorter than the time the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Apple iPhone 4S have been in the market.

The dual-core processor of the iPhone 4S along with the latest iOS 5 OS that offers more features including Siri and the iCloud has reportedly made it the most powerful Apple iPhone in the market although the problems on supply allowed the Samsung Galaxy S2 to surpass it on the list.

Some observers have reportedly considered the iPhone 4S as among the best smartphones due to the eight megapixel camera that it comes with the device although the Samsung Galaxy S2 has gone past the device on the list.
